Terminal Desk — No Shuttle

The counters are positioned inside the main terminal structure, in the arrivals and baggage claim zone.

All six operators — Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National — have adjacent service windows in this same area.

Lot A, where vehicles are parked and ready, is only about 30 yards from the terminal exit. There is no shuttle bus involved.

Desks are staffed every day of the year from 8:00 AM through 11:00 PM.

For renters arriving on late flights or returning outside these hours, an after-hours key drop box is maintained at the counter.

Simply leave your keys in the designated slot — no staff member is required to process your return.

Under New York State law, the minimum rental age is 18.

Renters between 18 and 20 years old are charged a young driver surcharge of $84 per day.

For renters aged 21 to 24, the surcharge is $35 per day.

Standard pricing applies to all renters aged 25 and above, with no additional age-related fees.

Visa- and MasterCard-branded debit cards are accepted from renters aged 25 and older, subject to a credit check at the time of pickup.

A credit card is required at pickup to cover the deposit hold, even if a debit card was used during the online booking.

Prepaid debit cards and gift cards are not accepted as a form of identification or deposit.

The card presented at the counter will be treated as the card of record for the full rental period.

All vehicles in the fleet are equipped for electronic toll collection compatible with E-ZPass lanes throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Using tolled roads incurs a daily toll facility charge of $5.95–$6.95, applied on top of the actual toll amounts.

You may opt out of the electronic toll program and pay cash at toll plazas, or use your own personal E-ZPass device if your provider permits it.

Booking 7–14 days before your pickup date consistently unlocks the most favorable rates at HPN.

Same-day walk-up rates at airport rental counters tend to be significantly higher than advance reservations — sometimes 30–50% more expensive.

Economy class vehicles at HPN start at $34/day when reserved in advance.

Mid-size and SUV categories are often available from $43–$54/day with early booking.
